Widow Project

RSHMU has had a strong effect on this cause. This project is designed to support widows in several areas of Uganda. Most of our widows have lost their husbands due to HIV/Aids and other communicable diseases and many of them are themselves HIV positive. Our generous friends have already assisted some 24 widows, by providing funds to construct 6 permanent homes costing approximately 13,567,910.78ugx ($4,376.74). We still have 8 widows staying in horrible and miserable homes made of mud and sticks that need immediate attention. These mud huts are fragile and many lose their lives when they collapse with people inside. We have widows who wake up sleeping on snakes, huts that are dissolved during floods, and other dangerous occurrences.

For this project, RSHMU needs a total of 108,543,280ugx ($35,013.96) to build the necessary permanent homes.

In addition, the widows (many are elderly or infirmed) especially need food, clothing, medicine, and they carry other medical bills etc. This project supports widows in the District of Kasese, Western Uganda and in Ntungamo, Mid-south-west Uganda.

These are beautiful God-fearing women who have been dealt a difficult life and they need your love and support.
