Child Education Sponsorship Project

Amount Needed:
$28,700

RSHMU believes that education is the #1 most valuable force to transform and change the lives of our vulnerable children. Please help us transform a child’s life from poverty to prosperity and self-reliance. Many of our children, especially the orphans from our community that we minister to love to attend school, but they lack the economic power to allow them to do so.

The fact is that our vulnerable children are in situations where their parents simply cannot pay for school or school supplies due to limited or non-existent family funds. Many are orphans who must live with their grandparents, aunts, uncles. When they do not have living family members then they must live with the friends of their late parents, if they have means to take them in. It is very unfortunate, but the reality is that many of our orphans have lost their parents to HIV/Aids, and other communicable diseases. Once a child has lost his/her parents, if they don’t have someone who can take them in, they end up going to the nearby towns and are forced to live as a “street child” succumbing to all sorts of dangerous conditions, vice and horrible abuse. RSHMU works to reduce and eliminate this and we need your help.

Our school-aged children range in age from 7-12 (basic education) and then from 13-24 (career education). At the moment we have a total of 136 school-aged children consisting of three (3) university students, 21 secondary school students and 112 pre-primary and primary age pupils. Per term (semester) our university students require 45,000,000ugx ($14,516.12), the 21 secondary school-aged students need 17,640,00ugx ($5,690), and our pre-primary and primary age pupils require a total of 26,208,000ugx ($8,454.1) per term to pay for their school fees. (examples: a university student needs 2,500,000ugx ($806.45) per semester, Secondary student needs 280,000ugx ($90.32) per term, while the pre and primary pupils each need 78000ugx ($25.161) per term).

These are beautiful children. They are children of God and each one prays to have an opportunity to finish their studies, and make a better future for themselves. They are and can be the future leaders of tomorrow, and the education that can be acquired by them will help us build a better Uganda and Africa for tomorrow’s world.
